Areas of Focus

At Nest Family Counselling, our strength lies in the diversity and depth of our team. Each therapist brings a unique specialization, allowing us to offer truly personalized care for every member of the family—at every stage of life.

We’re more than a group of therapists—we’re a team of highly trained professionals with advanced expertise in areas such as:

Child and Adolescent Therapy

Using play therapy, expressive arts, and trauma-informed approaches, our child specialists create safe, developmentally attuned spaces for kids to process big feelings and life changes.

Co-Parent Support & Parent Coaching

Our clinicians work directly with parents and caregivers, offering tools to navigate behavioural challenges, co-parenting, and the emotional impact of transitions like divorce, relocation, or new family structures.

Couples and Relationship Therapy

From conflict resolution to rebuilding after betrayal or loss, our couples therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches like EFT and Gottman Method to support connection and healing.

Trauma and EMDR Therapy

Several of our therapists are trained in EMDR and other somatic-based trauma modalities, helping individuals move through trauma in a safe, contained, and effective way.

ADHD Across the Lifespan
We offer specialized support for children, teens, and adults with ADHD—focusing on emotional regulation, executive functioning skills, and self-esteem. We also work with parents to understand and support their child’s unique brain and behavior, reducing frustration and strengthening relationships.

Grief, Loss, and Life Transitions

We specialize in supporting individuals and families through periods of grief, separation, identity shifts, and other major transitions—whether expected or sudden.

Because no two families are the same, we collaborate closely as a team to ensure you’re matched with the therapist best suited to your needs. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship—or your entire family—we’re here with the right tools, experience, and heart to help.

The Origin Story of

Nest Family Counselling

Nest Family Counselling was born from a simple, powerful idea: that healing begins where people feel safe, seen, and connected.

Our founder—an experienced therapist and stepparent—spent years working with individuals and families navigating life’s most challenging transitions: divorce, grief, relocation, identity shifts, blended family dynamics, and trauma in its many forms. Again and again, she saw that healing didn’t happen in isolation. It happened in relationships—especially within the family system.

Inspired by this, she envisioned a space where the whole family could be supported—not just one member at a time. A place where kids, teens, parents, couples, and caregivers could find grounded, trauma-informed care during moments of upheaval and uncertainty. A place to land, rebuild, and grow.

That vision became Nest Family Counselling.

Just like a nest offers safety and support for growth, our practice provides a nurturing, structured space for individuals and families to heal—together or individually. We specialize in transitions because we know those are the moments that test us most—and often, reveal our strength. Our team brings deep expertise in trauma, family systems, and developmental care across the lifespan, ensuring that every family member’s voice is heard and held.

At Nest, we believe families can evolve, repair, and thrive. We’re here to guide that process with compassion, skill, and care.  Our wonderful staff all contribute unique specialities to

"Generally what happens between therapist and patient also plays out between the patient and the people in the outside world, and it's in the safe space of the therapy room that the patient can begin to understand why"
