What Makes us Unique?

Psychology in Sherwood Park

The health of individuals drives the strength of a relationship, family and community.  So wherever you are in your life's journey, the Nest is here to help!  We are a boutique Counselling practice whose focus is to provide ethical, affordable and accessible care to those seeking counselling treatment.

Relationships foundationally change how to walk through life and how we interpret life satisfaction.  We support a community of people who are changing and adjusting their Nest (divorce, separation, starting new families, closing old chapters, opening new doors).

Our team comprises a diverse range of professionals, including Canadian Certified Counsellors, Registered Provisional Psychologists, Registered Psychologists, Registered Social Workers and Registered Clinical Social Workers ensuring accessible and ethical care tailored to your needs.  This allows clients to have options that may make benefit coverage more accessible!

The niche work we do revolves around various types of change.

Planned and Unplanned        Transformational Change                   Disruptive Change                       Adaptive Change

Developmental Change         Reactive and Proactive Change        Individual Change                        Traumatic Change

Personalized, Client Centered Care

At Nest Family Counselling, we recognize that no two individuals or families are the same. Each person’s story is shaped by unique experiences, relationships, and values, and we honour that by tailoring our approach to meet your specific needs. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family as a whole, we take the time to understand your goals and create a collaborative, individualized plan for care. We don’t just apply techniques, we build real connections, ensuring you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Experienced & Compassionate Team

Our team at Nest Family Counselling brings together a diverse group of professionals  (including Canadian Certified Counsellors, Registered Provisional Psychologists, and Registered Psychologists)  each with a shared commitment to ethical, accessible, and compassionate care. With training in evidence-based approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, EMDR, and trauma-informed practices, our therapists are equipped to support a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. What unites us is a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship and a genuine passion for helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive.

Collaborative and Transparent Process

At Nest Family Counselling, we believe that meaningful change happens through collaboration. From your first session, we work alongside you to understand your goals, explore your experiences, and develop a plan that feels right for you. We value open, honest communication and ensure you’re informed and involved throughout your therapeutic journey. Our role is to walk with you, not ahead of you,  offering professional insight while respecting your lived experience and personal wisdom. Together, we create a path forward that reflects your values, strengths, and vision for healing.

Commitment to Confidentiality & Trust

Trust is the foundation of meaningful therapeutic work. At Nest Family Counselling, we are deeply committed to creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard. We uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical care, ensuring that your personal information and experiences are protected at all times. Our therapists approach every session with compassion and integrity, building a relationship grounded in mutual trust. You can feel confident knowing that your story is held with care and that your well-being is always our top priority.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
― Carl R. Rogers, A Way of Being
