Trauma

Welcome/Bienvenue! I’m so glad you’re here.

Carrying the wounds of trauma, rejection, or abandonment, losing someone you love, the end of

a friendship or relationship can feel like your heart has been torn open— leaving you raw,

numb, or overwhelmed with grief and emptiness. In the midst of that pain, it’s easy to feel

invisible, unworthy, or completely alone. But your hurt is real, your feelings matter, and you

don’t have to face this darkness by yourself. My passion is creating a safe, supportive space

where you can freely explore your experiences and the emotional impact they’ve had on your

life.

Who I support

I enjoy supporting adults (18+), first responders (e.g., RCMP, fire rescue services, paramedics,

etc.), public safety personnel, veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces who may be

facing mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, trauma, PTSD, occupational stress

injuries, moral injury, loss and grief and emotional/attachment injuries.

How I support you

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care—meaning every step of our work prioritizes

your safety, autonomy, and pacing. Rather than asking 'What is wrong with you?', we gently

explore 'What happened to you, and how has your system adapted to survive?'

As part of this approach, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

(EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful or stuck memories.

EMDR allows you to heal from past distress without having to spend months retelling every

detail of the trauma, helping your nervous system finally recognize that the danger has passed.

Together, we will recognize how past experiences can shape how we feel, think, and connect

with others today — often in ways we don’t even realize. We’ll create a safe, trusting space to

explore what you’ve been through with compassion rather than judgment. I see reactions like

shutting down, feeling on edge, or disconnecting, not as flaws, but as ways your system has tried

to keep you safe. In our work, we’ll connect with what the body is trying to tell us, learn gentle

ways to calm your body, and understand your emotions.

Through an Emotionally Focused therapeutic lens, we’ll slow things down, tune into your

emotions, and understand what’s happening underneath — the feelings that sometimes get

missed or come out in ways that don’t feel helpful. By understanding these deeper experiences,

you can begin to recognize your emotional patterns, make sense of your reactions, build

emotional safety, and develop healthier patterns of communication. Many people find that this

helps them build stronger, more secure connections with themselves and their loved ones.

Training and Education

I’m a bilingual (French and English) registered psychologist in good standing with the College of

Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta, along with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from

the University of Manitoba. My professional path includes dedicated work in private practice as

well as foundational experience supporting individuals through crisis line volunteering. I am committed to ongoing professional growth, continuously expanding my expertise in trauma, emotional injuries, and loss and grief. A core passion of my practice is supporting first

responders and public safety personnel. To better serve this community, I hold a Certificate in First Responder Psychology from The Wright Institute, and I have deepened my understanding of the unique culture and stressors of this work through direct immersion. This includes frontline experience with Edmonton Police Service, the RCMP, and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, as well as observing specialized reintegration training.

My History

I grew up on an acreage in southern Manitoba. Life eventually brought me to Alberta to pursue post-secondary education and ultimately begin my career. My upbringing and life experiences have led me to value genuine and meaningful connections, authenticity, being silly and laughing, the beauty of nature, and animal companionship.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my partner, friends, and family, grabbing coffee and puppacinos with my dogs Hudson and Dawson, horseback riding, travelling (my favourite place is Costa Rica!), and watching reality TV (currently making my way through Vanderpump Rules

and the Below Deck series).
