OUR APPROACH
Not couples therapy, yet
Clarity, not fixing
The focus is on understanding what happened and what each of you wants, not on repairing the relationship right away.
Both perspectives
Sessions make room for the partner who is
leaning in and the one who is leaning out.
Three paths
You'll leave with a clearer decision: work on
the relationship, take time apart or
separate.
GETTING STARTED
Three simple steps
01
Book together
Both partners attend. If your partner won't come, individual counselling is a good
place to start.
02
Complete your intake
Each partner completes forms by email before the first session.
03
First session
You'll meet together, with individual time when your therapist recommends it.

QUESTIONS
Couples often ask
How is this different from couples counselling?
Couples counselling works on the relationship. Discernment counselling helps you decide whether to work on it in the first place.
What if one of us has already decided to leave?
Discernment counselling is best when there is still some uncertainty. If a
decision has already been made, individual counselling may be a better fit.
Do we both have to attend?
Yes, both partners attend. If your partner isn't willing, you can start with
individual counselling.
Is discernment counselling covered by insurance?
Many plans cover Canadian Certified Counsellors, and we direct bill 26+ insurers.
