Trauma
Life can often feel busy, overwhelming, and full of ups and downs for the children and families I work with. My passion is supporting children, teens, and families in feeling understood and equipped with tools to navigate life’s challenges and big emotions. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.
I specialize in working with children and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, and challenges related to family transitions such as separation or divorce. I often use play, art, sand tray, music-informed activities, and other creative approaches to help children and teens express themselves in ways that feel natural and meaningful. Together, we can focus on building skills in emotional regulation, social interactions, executive functioning, self-esteem, and confidence, while developing healthy coping tools for navigating complex social and family dynamics.
My therapeutic approach is attachment-based, child-centred, and trauma-informed. I draw from a variety of modalities, including Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, creative arts-based approaches, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
My goal is to provide a safe and encouraging space where children, teens, and families can experience moments of connection, discover their strengths, and develop tools that help them thrive together.
Training and Education
I hold a Clinical Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary. Since graduating, I have continued to deepen my knowledge and skills with specialized training focused on supporting children, youth, and families through an attachment-based, connection-building, and strengths-based lens.
My training includes Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy through the Maritime Play Therapy Centre, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, with advanced specialization in working with children and adolescents through the EMDR Institute. I have also completed training in Child-Centred Animal-Assisted Therapy, as well as creative approaches that integrate art and music to support expression and healing.
My History
I was born and raised in St. Albert and have been practicing in community mental health for over nine years. I am a Métis citizen, and I value integrating nature, animals, outdoor experiences, and culture into my therapy practice. I believe that healing happens in relationship - a principle I carry both personally and professionally. Strong, compassionate connections are at the heart of the work I do with children, youth, and families.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my husband, our dog Marvin (a big, sensitive pitbull who is scared of everything), and our sibling cats, Oscar and Georgia (who I would love to be therapy cats!). In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with my family at our cottage, playing board games with friends, going to the movie theatre, practicing pilates, and getting creative with graphic design projects.
I also spend a lot of time travelling to Montréal to be with my husband’s family, and love travelling around the world, going on adventures and exploring new places!
