I love spending time with a rich diversity of people, and I have always been captivated by hearing people’s stories. My clients appreciate my ability to connect in authentic ways, my positive energy and enthusiasm, my warmth and care, and my support to see and do things differently to create meaningful change. I experience incredible joy seeing people step into the uniqueness of who they are and thrive.

Training and Education

I am a Registered Social Worker with Restricted Psychosocial Intervention Authorization in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

I hold a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelor of Social Work from University of Manitoba, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Trinity Western University.

I have worked as a social worker for over 20 years, supporting adults, children, adolescents, and families facing a variety of mental health concerns, addictions, and developmental disabilities. I have worked in numerous roles including Mental Health Therapist and Addictions Counselor in community and inpatient settings across the continuum of care, in Manitoba and Alberta with health authorities, government, hospitals, and community agencies.

Additional training to further advance my skills include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, SPRAM: Suicide Prevention & Risk Assessment, CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Anxiety to Calm Coach Certification, Brain Story Certification.

My History

I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and after graduating from university moved to Calgary for 5 years, then moved to a small, rural town in Manitoba for 20 years where I raised my three children with my husband. I returned to Alberta 5 years ago and love living in Sherwood Park! My experiences of living in both rural and urban settings have helped me to understand and appreciate different ways of life. Helping people is what matters most to me, so becoming a social worker, and then a therapist, has been a perfect fit for me!

I am an extremely active person and I experience peace and joy spending time in nature. Outside of work I love to work out at the gym, play pickleball, walk my chocolate lab, kayak, ski, hike, swim, and cycle! You can also find me going to art shows, musicals, plays, reading books, and spending time with family and friends. I get excited when I can adventure, travel, and try new things!
